New ReviewerThe 45 day money back guarantee is bogus. Fitbit sent me a defective device, I initially wanted to exchange it because I love the look, but it was wildly misreading my heart rate.
The customer service agent went above and beyond in trying to blame it on user error. I have had a fitbit alta for 3 years and have never had any issues. The agent then informed me that I would be receiving a "gently used/refurbished" device for the exchange and that I would have to pay for the return shipping. He claimed that since they were "sending out an exchange for free" that they don't cover shipping.
I'm sorry but since when is sending out a working product, when a defective one has been received, considered doing something for free? I decided to do a return as to not risk getting another defective product but the cost of their mistake goes back to the customer.
Ridiculous. I will be finding a different company for my heart rate tracker needs.AAvoi
User's recommendation: avoid fitbit for any purchases.
Monetary Loss: $8.
Preferred solution: My return shipping paid for by the company.
Fitbit Pros: Visually appealing devices.
Fitbit Cons: Customer service.
